Gallery Update

Mon Oct 12, 2009, 8:46 AM
I finally took a few to organize my gallery. All my work fits into one of the following categories: Older Fractals (pretty much what I did from day 1 up until my newest work), Experimental Work (anything not a fractal that I was playing around with), Web Designs (I used to go to school for this but between the economy and having every last bit of confidence sucked out of me I had to quit school and I pretty much just gave up on it), and Reincarnation (the name of my newest collection of fractals). My newest fractals have their own collection name because I feel like they grew in quality once I grew in life in general and the name represents the end of old habits and the beginning of new, better habits. So there you are :)

Oh no! You quit school? WHY? Why would anybody suck out your confidence? I understand having no money issues... but don't let ANYBODY take anything away from you. You are a fantastic artist, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing ALL of your artwork. Don't let some moron get to you like that hon  Get back to school as soon as you can, don't drop out! I dropped out 10 years ago and finally decided to go back... granted I didn't know what I wanted to do, but my life could have taken a different path had I not dropped out. :cuddle:

Money was like 95% of why I left school. But the school was teaching the students to be "business" people aka assholes and that wasn't for me. I know it's a competitive field but they really just took it too far and that's what broke my confidence.

Aww hon, I'm so sorry. But it is a business. I hate to say that, trust me. But I realized that the only way I can actually get where I want to be, I might have to do the business side of it first. It's a process. Thomas Mangelsen, who is my favorite wildlife photographer didn't get to where he was by just going out and taking photos. He had to work like a grunt at times, but now he travels when and where he wants to, picks and chooses what he wants to do. That's the life I want, but to do that, I might just have to be in advertising for awhile, or I might have to do some things that I won't really care about doing, but the goal... that's what matters.

I do hope that you can get back to school, albeit a different one, but don't let the business side of things get you down... just realize that life is like that and you just have to muddle through it to do what you really want.

Honestly I'm much happier being away from that now, plus I'm taking my life in a new direction.

Oh ok, whatever makes you happy hon
